Carolyn founded a North Carolina non-profit. Insightful Visionaries, answering a call to empower persons with disabilities by encouraging socialization and other esteem-building opportunities. 

In 2019, Carolyn was honored by WRAL TV as a beacon of light in the community, and role model of strength and determination. In 2020, she was inducted into (NAWBO). NC National Association of Women Business Owners Hall of Fame.

When Carolyn was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) a degenerative eye disease and became legally blind, she rose up to meet the challenge. While it has not always been easy, Carolyn has a fighting spirit and innovative mind. God has given her vision without sight to continue to impact others in various industries as well as advocate for those with disabilities. Carolyn uses her voice to advocate for those who need it the most as well as inspiring entrepreneurs in their business goals and aspirations.
